Aanjibimaadizing (Aanji) works to produce and offer quality trainings that improve our client’s lives. These are centered around workforce development, adult education, and those that promote family stabilty or enrich the community.
In-person trainings are typically based out of our Aanji offices in the Urban area (Minneapolis), District I (Onamia), District II (McGregor), and District III (Hinckley).
Eligibility to be an Aanjibimaadizing client is limited to those who are enrolled members of a federally recognized tribe and live in our east-central Minnesota service area. This includes Aitkin, Anoka, Benton, Chisago, Crow Wing, Hennepin, Mille Lacs, Kanabec, Morrison, Pine and Ramsey counties. Financial requirements apply. We often assist our clients with the registration cost, lodging and transportation needs.
- With that, a few courses may be marked “Aanji clients only”. We encourage you to call or stop by your local Aanjibimaadizing office to apply if you would like to attend.
- We open trainings to others in the community when able; these are marked, “Aanji clients have first priority.” In this case, we welcome others who are interested in attending to register. They are placed on the course waiting list and will be notified if there are openings.
- We also work to promote trainings that meet our high standards and are held by outside sources that are open to the public. These are marked, “Open to the public.” If you are interested in one of these courses, but are not eligible to become a client, you are welcome to contact the facilitator or sponsoring organization to register.
Also note:
- If a course has passed that you are interested in, please call 218-768-5339 and let us know that you would like to attend the next time it is offered.
- Training orientation is required for clients beginning WEX or those taking in-person trainings that aren’t facilitated by Aanjibimaadizing.
- If you are a current Aanjibimaadizing client, with the course added to your training plan by your case manager, you may be eligible for assistance to cover supplies, transportation, or lodging and completion incentives. If requesting support services to attend, please register at least two weeks in advance.
