Aanjibimaadizing (Aanji) works to produce and offer quality trainings that improve our client’s lives. These are centered around workforce development, adult education and courses that promote family stabilty or enrich the community.

In-person trainings are typically based out of our Aanji offices in the Urban area (Minneapolis), District I (Onamia), District II (McGregor), and District III (Hinckley).

Eligibility to be an Aanjibimaadizing client is limited to those who are enrolled members of a federally recognized tribe and live in our east-central Minnesota service area. This includes Aitkin, Anoka, Benton, Chisago, Crow Wing, Hennepin, Mille Lacs, Kanabec, Morrison, Pine and Ramsey counties. Financial requirements apply.

If you are a current Aanjibimaadizing client, with the course added to your training plan by your case manager, you may be eligible for assistance to cover supplies, transportation and lodging, as well as completion incentives. If requesting support services to attend, please register at least two weeks in advance.

Training orientation is required for clients beginning WEX or those taking in-person trainings that aren’t facilitated by Aanjibimaadizing.

Registration for other Community Members:

A few courses may be marked “Aanji clients only”. These are classes designed specifically for Aanjibimaadizing clients. If you are eligible, we encourage you to go to aanji.org to apply. You can also stop by your local Aanjibimaadizing office.

We open trainings to others in the community when able; these are marked “Aanji clients have first priority.” In this case, we welcome others who are interested in attending to register. They are placed on the course waiting list and will be notified if there are openings.

We also work to promote trainings that meet our high standards and are held by outside sources that are open to the public. These are marked “Open to the public.” If you are interested in one of these courses, but are not eligible to become a client, you are welcome to contact the facilitator or sponsoring organization to register.

If you are not an Aanjibimaadizing client and would like to attend these classes, please contact Becky at 320-362-4716 (call or text) or email Becky.Clitso-Garcia@millelacsband.com to register.

Training Guidelines

Failure to follow these basic rules may result in loss of incentives (no money) and suspension from future training session opportunities:

  • Be on time for the start of the training each day. Return from breaks on time or ahead of time. Actively participate in the training.
  • If unable to attend, please provide notice at least 24 hours before the start of the class. You must complete the entire training successfully with at least 85% attendance in order to receive a training completion incentive.
  • Cigarette smoking and vaping is only allowed in designated areas. No illegal drug use. No drinking of alcoholic beverages. If you are asked to leave a training due to being suspected of being under the influence, you will be suspended from trainings for 1 year.
  • Show basic respect for the trainers and other participants. No foul language. Remember you are representing the Aanjibimaadizing program and the Mille Lacs Band.
  • Have fun!
